About
Hello and Welcome to Equanimity Sports!
In 2018 I sat with my 12 year old son in a conference room filled with college coaches and other professionals and listened to their recommendations for high school coaches and young athletes... and one speaker stood out. Coach Dana Cavalea, former Director of Strength and Conditioning for the New York Yankees, spoke about the numerous resources provided to professional athletes, including mental game support. It was in that moment that I realized that's what was missing in youth sports. When young athletes are struggling to perform, skills training is important, but often the disconnect is in the mental approach!

Using my education and experience in sports, fitness, psychology, working with young people as a physician assistant, quality improvement, and my personal experience as the mother of a driven athlete, as well as my passion for advocating for young people, I began developing Equanimity Sports LLC!

Equanimity Sports LLC focuses on mental game fundamentals for student-athletes ages 12 and older (younger athletes have also benefited with parental engagement). Strategies were designed to be easy to learn, easy to remember, and easy to use right away! Youth through college age student-athletes have consistently reported success using Equanimity Sports strategies!

Thank you for your interest in Equanimity Sports! I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!

About Me
Amanda Beattie

As a young person, I always loved sports. Volleyball, gymnastics, swimming, flag-football, cheerleading, pretty much everything! I was never an elite athlete, but I loved it!

In high school and college, I began instructing and coaching. I taught youth gymnastics, worked with individuals with developmental and physical challenges in sports and on challenge courses, and began working in the fitness industry as a strength trainer.

I graduated from UNC Wilmington with a BA in psychology with a focus on neuropsychology and sport science and a BS in clinical research, then received a MS in physician assistant studies from LeMoyne College.

My clinical practice has included 10 years in family medicine with experience in school-based health and quality improvement, and experience in addiction medicine. It is important to note, Equanimity Sports, LLC is not part of my clinical practice and does not provided medical or mental health services.

Outside of my clinical practice, my passion lies in supporting young people in pursuing their dreams. In addition to founding Equanimity Sports, LLC, I have also led the development of COMMIT2COMMIT, Inc, and Top Tier Grit, Inc. (Launching soon!)

I love being driven, overcoming challenges, and achieving what others believe is near impossible, but what I love most is my two boys and our life adventures together!
